Indeed it is. It was an end-of-the-year thing that I did quite quickly and mostly on my own. I started painting it without permission from the proper authorities because I wanted to surprise everyone...but I eventually got permission (when I was already pretty much done LOL)

What makes me laugh is that nobody gets the Tegan and Sara reference, but the reviews I got were positive

I think its cos T&S arent really mainstream and not that many people at your school would know of them, at least not well enough to get it (even though its obviously a direct shout out to them!)

That's kinda funny about you not really asking and just doing it. At least its something that looks really good, i mean its better than like graffiti or something isn't it!

Personally I thought I would have done a much better job if I had more time, but I only came up with the idea a few days prior to school ending, plus I was graduating so I wouldn't have a chance to come back and finish it, and I really wanted to "leave my mark" on the school lol I'm glad that you enjoy it.

And I definitely know what you mean about T&S. There ARE a few peeps at my school who do know about them which is how I got to know them.

I hope they never really go mainstream though, because for some reason I feel when musicians go mainstream, their music tends to suffer (not that it starts sucking), but that the music is geared more to the fans when you get to that stage, rather than it being their own unique style. I think being underdogs in the music industry allows you to keep that unique sound.

Of course I could be wrong it's just my opinion There are tons of good mainstream artists out there.

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed watching T&S' sound evolve throughout the years, while managing to stay original/unique. I think that's why I'm so attracted to their music. I very much anticipate hearing their next album when it comes in October

I think its also all the attention they give to their fans. The way they talk to the crowd and tell them stories, the way they make online videos of them backstage/on tour etc plus their facebook/myspace messages .. They really do make the effort and let their fans get to know them.

You should hear the story behind this if you haven't already from reading the comments below.

I've always wanted to paint a mural at my school. This one in particular I started painting without permission on the last day of school because I wanted to surprise people, and did not actually tell my principal until it was almost done. And the funny thing was that she actually LIKED it lmao. I rushed this so much because I crammed it into exam week. It was not done until we picked up report cards on the 26th so I'm not too sure everyone's seen it yet.

Ah well, we all leave our mark in some way eh?
